The Process Engineering Technologist will contribute to process and facilities projects engineered and executed in our Heavy Oil Department. You will help to ensure successful project outcomes including meeting schedule commitments, keeping cost at or below AFE value, and ensuring construction and turn over activities are performed safely and efficiently. Manage and oversee various projects including:
o Heavy oil treating facilities
o Salt water treating and disposing facilities
o Metering, tankage, and injection and jetting pumps and facilities
o Fuel gas processing facilities
o Heat exchanger testing and optimization
o Cooling systems
o Piping modifications
o Automatic oil pit analyzers
o Oil/Water cut shacks installation
o Other field equipment and infrastructure
• Coordinate with Operations and Production teams to develop project scopes
• Develop Project Execution Plans (PEP) appropriate to the project
• Define and oversee statistical analysis of mechanical engineering contractors activity; define contractor KPIs and assess execution efficiency and performance
• Create cost estimates
• Ensure engineering drawings and Construction Work Packages (CWPs) are created, reviewed and executed safely and efficiently in the field
• Coordinate the engineering design and CWPs
• Maintain project documentation and project close-outs
• Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma
• Post-secondary module/certification in statistics/quantitative analysis
• Expertise in:
o WCB and Alberta OH&S rules and regulations
o Heavy oil construction projects including:
o Heavy oil treating facilities
o Salt water treating and disposing facilities
o Metering, tankage, injection, jetting pumps and facilities
o Fuel gas processing facilities
o Heat exchanger testing and optimization
o Cooling systems
o Piping modifications
o Automatic oil pit analyzers
o Oversight of construction activities
o Oil and gas specific software:
o Oilfield Manager OFM
o FORGAS
o Crystal Ball; statistics and risk analysis
o Accumap, Energy Navigator, Wellview, Wellcore and PVR
o Aspen HYSYS
o AutoCAD
o Drafting and analysis of engineering drawings
o Project management:
o Scope and schedule development
o Cost estimation and control
o Materials management
