The ISA Edmonton Section is ecstatic to announce that - for the second time - we are the honouree of the International Society of Automation's 2024 Section Excellence Award! This award recognizes an ISA Section for it's programs, initiatives, activities, and/or services that advance the mission of the Society. There are currently 102 sections across the globe.
The award will be presented at ISA HQ's Gala Celebration on Thursday, October 5, 2024 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, during their Automation Summit & Expo. Both Shreya Nandiraju, 2023-2024 ISA Edmonton Section President (now Past President), and Meenal Mishra, 2024-2025 ISA Edmonton Section President, will be in attendance as guests of honour to receive the award on behalf of our Section.
It's important to mention that Harikrishna Rao Mohan Rao from our Section has been selected for the Student Volunteers of the Year award (full story coming fall 2024).
The International Society of Automation (ISA) — the leading professional society for automation — has announced the 2024 ISA Celebrating Excellence award recipients. With this Honors and Awards Program, ISA has an opportunity to formally showcase and celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of its members, partners and other automation professionals.
The Celebrating Excellence awards program was created to stimulate, enhance, encourage, acknowledge and reward outstanding contributions to the Society and the automation profession. It provides an avenue for individuals to compete for recognition within established categories.
The Section was selected by the ISA HQ Honours and Awards Committee based on the Section’s 2023 health score (80%) and the executive summary submitted by the Section in the 2023 Annual Report. Selection is equally weighted between the Section’s health score from the previous year and the outstanding initiative which has been launched, implemented, and produced tangible results in the previous year. Edmonton ISA is a very active section, we run extensive programs including: monthly technical meetings, annual golf tournament (September 2022), student sections support (we offer a generous mentorship program, biennial ISA Edmonton Section Automation Expo & Conference (AEC, Spring 2023), marketing program to promote ISA and section events to Alberta industry leaders, and a Membership Drive to promote ISA membership and remind members about their membership renewal.
