Mentorship Program

How It Works

The ISA Edmonton Section Mentorship Program was established to help mentees build and grow a career in automation. Mentees are paired with a mentor that has experience in the mentee’s area(s) of interest. This is an 8 month long commitment that runs from November to June on a yearly basis.

Mentees have the opportunity to establish a relationship with their mentor and to create an automation industry confidante (please note: this is not a career placement program). Mentors may be willing to provide a reference letter at the end of the program (upon request and at the mentor's discretion).

What You Get

These milestones are included:

  • Mentorship Program Kick-Off (November)
  • An initial Meet Your Mentor & Goal Setting Meeting (November).
  • Two mentor-mentee follow-up meetings to review progress (February & April). One of these will take place at the mentor's workplace and include a tour!
  • A year-end Mentorship Program Wind-Up event (June) with all mentors and mentees where mentees receive an ISA Edmonton Section Mentorship Certificate of Completion or Participation.
  • Mentorship Program Wind-Up (June)

What You Give

Mentee responsibilities are:

  • Being an ISA Student Member (membership is $15 US, sign-up here).
  • Attending all ISA Edmonton Section events while enrolled in the Mentorship Program (important note: there is a nominal registration fee associated with our events, visit www.isaedmonton.org/events-education for details).
  • Volunteering for one ISA Edmonton Section initiative while enrolled in the Mentorship Program.
  • Setting up all meetings with their mentor (the mentor will contact the mentee to set-up the first Meet Your Mentor & Goal Setting Meeting).
