ISA Student Industry Tour!
NAIT & U of A Engineering Students, here's your chance to see how major plants throughout Northern Alberta operate on a day to day basis! Apply by May 16, 2019 to join us on the ISA Student Industry Tour from Tuesday June 4th to Thursday, June 6th, 2019.
The ISA NAIT Student Section is proud to present this opportunity... step inside the facilities of major Alberta energy producers, and manufacturers. See where an engineering diploma/degree can take you, learn more about measurement, controls, and safety systems applied to a variety of industrial processes.
The industry tour includes visits to the following industrial facilities:
- Dow Chemical, Fort Saskatchewan
- Pembina Pipelines, Redwater
- Syncrude, Fort McMurray
- NWR, Redwater
- Packers Plus, Edmonton
Plus, you'll get to to attend the Western Canada Manufacturing Technology Show in Edmonton.
The event is generously funded by the ISA Edmonton section; they will cover travel, accommodation (2 nights), as well as dinner on Thursday. Participants are expected to pay for all other meals.
How To Apply
Interested students can apply by completing the online form before Thursday, May 16, 2019. Number of participants is limited.If there is more interest than spots available, advantage will be given to students actively involved with the ISA Edmonton Section (volunteering with either the ISA Edmonton Section 1) NAIT Student Section or 2) U of A Student Section, attending technical talks, participating in the mentorship program, etc.). Selected applicants will be notified by Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
Please Note: 1) Those selected must be or become ISA Edmonton Section Student Members by Friday, May 24, 2019, and 2) Personal protective equipment is required (an itemized list will be provided in advance of the tour dates).
